What Is
She Leads Academy?
She Leads Academy is a powerful summer internship and leadership experience designed to equip young women with the tools, confidence, and community to step into their power.
This program is a proud collaboration between Arab Women United (AWU) and OmniWomyn, two organizations dedicated to uplifting women globally. Together, we’ve built a unique and accessible learning space that combines career development, personal growth, and community impact all from the comfort of your home.
Over eight transformative weeks, participants take part in a structured yet flexible program that blends education, mentorship, and hands-on experience. Each theme and session is crafted to help women break barriers, build confidence, and prepare for leadership in their chosen fields.
Our program focuses on four key pillars:
Leadership – Discover your unique voice and learn how to lead with purpose and authenticity.
Career Building – Strengthen your resume, polish your LinkedIn, and learn how to network like a pro.
Entrepreneurship – Explore the mindset and skills needed to start your own venture or lead within your industry.
Wellness – Prioritize mental health, set healthy boundaries, and learn how to lead while taking care of yourself.
Every participant receives guidance from experienced mentors, access to exclusive masterclasses with accomplished women leaders, and the opportunity to earn a leadership certification upon completion.
By the end of the program, you won’t just have new skills, you’ll have a sisterhood that continues to support you beyond the summer.
She Leads Academy is more than an internship, it’s a launchpad for your next chapter of success and self-discovery.
Being part of the SheLeads internship has felt like finding my place among women whose energy, drive, and growth mindsets deeply resonated with me. Each interaction reflected a shared passion for leadership, self-development, and success. I was surrounded by confident, hardworking individuals whose presence alone inspired me to keep showing up as my best self. The sense of belonging, mutual empowerment, and genuine connection made this experience truly special.
Sheleads, to me, has been one of the most unexpected and yet wonderfulexperiences I've had in my life. I truly feel l have grown and developed knowledge that I am using in my everyday life. It was an opportunity to stop, reflect and push myself into a better version. I'd like to truly thank the sheleads internship program for the amazing work they've put in.
Arab Women United and the SheLeads internship have boosted my confidence, helping me grow as a leader and inspiring me to empower others. This experience motivated me to start a new chapter at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, expanding AWU's mission of creating safe, supportive spaces for women and addressing issues of poverty, oppression, and inequality in underserved communities.
