Yumna Jawad
Yumna Jawad is a dynamic entrepreneur, social media influencer, and recipe developer, celebrated for founding the popular Feel Good Foodie brand, which boasts over 9.5 million followers. Her culinary journey began in 2013 when she started sharing recipes on Instagram, quickly gaining recognition and featuring on major media outlets like Live with Kelly & Ryan, The Today Show, Good Morning America, PEOPLE, Vogue, and the New York Times.
Born in Africa, Yumna witnessed her mother making the most of limited ingredients, instilling values of diversity, resilience, and independence. After moving to Dearborn, Michigan at age 11 and graduating from the University of Michigan Business School, she spent a decade in marketing before launching Feel Good Foodie as a hobby. Her initial struggle with cooking led her to seek guidance from her mother, which inspired her to create a brand centered around “healthy-ish” recipes with Mediterranean influences.
Yumna's cookbook, now a national bestseller, features 125 simple, healthy recipes that blend Middle Eastern and Midwest flavors, all designed to be made in 30 minutes or less with 10 ingredients or fewer, each accompanied by a photo. In addition to Feel Good Foodie, Yumna launched the packaged overnight oats brand Oath, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit.
Yumna's personal values—rooted in diversity, equality, and inclusivity—reflect her alignment with broader efforts to uplift and support underserved communities. Her commitment to making cooking accessible and joyful, combined with her dedication to these principles, underscores her broader impact. Now living in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with her husband and two children, Yumna continues to inspire with her journey and advocacy for community support and empowerment.
